Delete your account
Last updated October 10, 2026
You can delete your QuackCode account and its data at any time, in the app or by email. If you have an active subscription, we cancel it when you delete your account, and you won't be charged again. Classes and assessments you created are deleted too.
1. Delete it in the app
- Open QuackCode at app.quackcode.dev and sign in.
- Go to Settings and scroll to Danger zone.
- Choose Delete account.
- Type DELETE to confirm. Your account, profile, progress, saved project work and everything else listed under What is deleted are deleted from the app right away, and from our backups within 30 days.
Have Pro? You can cancel it first in Settings, Manage billing. Either way, if you have an active subscription, we cancel it when you delete your account, and you won't be charged again.
2. Ask by email instead
If you can't sign in, email privacy@quackcode.dev from the email address you signed in with (or tell us how you signed in: email, GitHub or Google), with the subject "Delete my QuackCode account". We'll confirm it's you, delete the account, and reply when it's done, within 30 days.
3. What is deleted
- Your account and sign-in details: email address, name, avatar and any GitHub or Google link.
- Your profile: username, Duck costume, track, onboarding answers and your public profile.
- Your learning data: progress, saved project work, submissions, specs, prompts and Duck chats, check runs, scores, XP, streaks, and completed projects, drills and capstones.
- Your league history and your friendships. You disappear from your friends' lists.
- Your shared replays, public or private, including the replay of any employer assessment you took.
- Classes you own, with their assignments and memberships.
- Assessments you created, with their candidate lists.
- Copies of all of this in our backups, within 30 days.
Running a class or hiring? Deleting your account deletes your classes and assessments for everyone in them, including your students' memberships and your candidate lists, so save anything you need first.
4. What is kept
- Billing records, kept by Stripe and by us for tax and accounting, for up to 7 years.
- If you took an employer's assessment: the scores and status you already submitted stay with that employer, in their candidate list, until the employer deletes them (at most 24 months). The replay is deleted with your account.
- De-identified statistics that can't be linked back to you.
- Your waitlist entry, if you joined the waitlist, unless you ask us to delete it too. Just say so in your email.
- Server, error and AI request logs, until they expire on their own (up to 90 days for server and error logs, up to 30 days for AI request logs).
Deleting also clears the copy of your progress saved in the browser you delete from. On any other device where you were signed in, a local copy may remain until you clear the site data for app.quackcode.dev in that browser.
